Privacy Policy

The company SCILLE (« SCILLE »), publishes the software named PARSEC (« PARSEC ») available as a “software as a service” (https://parsec.cloud).

This document is dedicated to the protection of privacy (the « Privacy Policy ») of PARSEC, published by SCILLE, a simplified joint-stock company (société par actions simplifiée) with a capital of 95,967 euros, registered with the Bordeaux Trade and Companies Register under number 799854633; whose registered office is located at 11 chemin de Jalès – 33160 Saint-Médard-en-Jalles – FRANCE (« SCILLE »).

The publication director is Thierry Leblond.

The Site is hosted on the public cloud under the responsibility of SCILLE via Platforms as a Service and Infrastructures as a Service.

The Privacy Policy is an integral part of the Terms and Conditions of Sale (T&Cs). Each term defined in the T&Cs has the same meaning in the Privacy Policy.

Processing of users’ personal data

1. Conditions for the processing of Personal Data

By browsing or using the Site, and by creating an Account, Users of Parsec must validate the Privacy Policy via a checkbox “I accept without reservation Parsec’s Privacy Policy” and thereby agree to be bound by it.

The Privacy Policy may be modified or updated at any time without notice. Any modification or update will be published online on the Site.

SCILLE collects and uses the Personal Data that Users have spontaneously provided when creating an Account or subscribing to a Subscription. SCILLE may be required to collect and retain certain data in order to prevent fraud.

2. Nature of the Personal Data collected

Users of the Site and of PARSEC are required to provide their Personal Data accurately, honestly and truthfully, and to update it whenever necessary so that it remains accurate and complete.

SCILLE collects and processes Users’ Personal Data fairly and lawfully, and in compliance with their rights.

In the course of its activities, SCILLE is required to collect the following Personal Data:

the surname(s) and first name(s), and contact details of the Users creating the Account for the Client (email and postal address, phone number);
a User identifier and an email address so that the User can create an Account within the organization.
For the proper functioning of the service, Scille is required to collect the following information:
- Identifier;
- Email address;
- First name, last name;
- Position within the company;
- Company name;
- Country;
- Phone number.

Personal Data is collected when the User uses the services of the Site and Parsec, notably to create an Account or to contact customer service. Scille does not collect any payment information: this is delegated to a dedicated service (https://stripe.com/fr).

3. Protection, retention and deletion of Personal Data

The Personal Data provided by Users is hosted by SCILLE on the Parsec site and is accessible to the marketing department and the customer service department.

SCILLE does everything possible to prevent any interference with Users’ Personal Data, such as loss, misuse, intrusion, unauthorized disclosure, alteration or destruction of personal data.

Unless legal provisions impose a specific retention period, Users’ Personal Data will be retained for the entire duration of the Subscription and will then be destroyed one month after unsubscription. There is no prospecting data hosted on the Site.

The User may request the deletion of their Account at any time from SCILLE. Without prejudice to the provisions relating to the retention of Personal Data, the deletion of an Account will occur within one (1) month from such request.

4. Communication from SCILLE

SCILLE will communicate with Users via notifications from the Parsec Data Browser.

SCILLE may send Users who have accepted it emails to their email address to inform them of important developments in PARSEC, or to communicate technical or administrative information to them.

5. Transfer of Personal Data

SCILLE may transmit Users’ Personal Data at the request of the competent Authorities within the framework of applicable law.

If the service provider, recipient of the Personal Data, is located outside the European Union, either it is located in a country benefiting from an adequacy decision of the European Commission, or SCILLE will ensure appropriate safeguards from this service provider with regard to GDPR requirements.

In this respect, SCILLE informs the Client and/or the User that it refrains from transmitting their Personal Data to partners or third parties for advertising purposes. SCILLE undertakes not to communicate, transfer or assign Personal Data to third parties without the express consent of Users.

SCILLE may communicate Users’ Personal Data if required by law or upon judicial or administrative request.

6. Users’ rights regarding their Personal Data

In accordance with applicable legislation and regulations on the protection of personal data, SCILLE informs Users of their right to access, modify and request the deletion of their Personal Data collected and processed, it being specified that the deletion of Personal Data will result in the closure of their Account, and to obtain communication of it in a structured and readable format (unless there is a legitimate impediment). Users also have the right to object to or request the restriction of the processing of their Personal Data.

Users also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority and to define directives relating to their digital estate (testament numérique).

Users have the right to withdraw their consent at any time, when it had been requested, it being specified that any prior processing will remain lawful.

1. Cookies

A cookie is a file that can be saved on the hard drive of Users’ devices when using Parsec. These small files may contain, for example, User preferences.

SCILLE may place cookies on Users’ devices in order to allow them to browse under optimal conditions, save User profiles and restore their preferences when they are connected via their usual device, or to carry out statistics.

2. Type of cookies used via the Parsec.cloud showcase site

SCILLE uses cookies:

navigation cookies, which are cookies necessary for the proper technical functioning of Parsec as they allow the optimization of content display from each User’s device;
functional cookies, which are not essential to the proper functioning of Parsec but optimize the experience on the Site by allowing Users to be identified;
analytical cookies, which allow tracking of Users’ browsing for optimization purposes. The information collected notably includes the number of visitors, their origin and details of the pages that have been visited. This information helps SCILLE make improvements to Parsec, and to SCILLE’s campaigns.

SCILLE does not use any marketing or direct targeting cookies, or third-party cookies, which allow the sending of commercial messages likely to interest Users based on their browsing history.

Third-party cookies are those sent by trusted third-party partners.

Users must accept the placement of cookies on their device via the banner provided for this purpose when they connect to Parsec.

SCILLE does not retain cookies allowing the traceability of a User beyond 1 month after the first placement on a User’s device.

Users may at any time delete cookies from their browsing software and configure it to object to their storage on their device.

SCILLE invites them to refer to the help file of their browsing software to establish the appropriate configuration. Browsing Parsec without accepting cookies may be degraded.

3. Type of cookies used via the merchant site sign.parsec.cloud

Presence of functional cookies only: These cookies are necessary for the operation of the site; without them you would not be able to use the full range of services offered by the site. They are placed by Scille and only concern the operation of the site. They allow:

securing reserved and personal areas of the site, such as your account, through identifiers or time-limited access tokens;
ensuring the security of the authentication mechanism, notably by limiting robotic or unexpected access attempts;
facilitating access to reserved and personal areas of the site by remembering your identifiers;
adapting the presentation of the site to your display preferences (language used, display resolution…);
facilitating the registration process by remembering its content and progress as it goes.

4. Traffic

Traffic data is generated when Users’ devices are connected to the internet and to PARSEC.

This data may be used for statistical purposes in order to carry out analyses of Parsec’s usage and to improve it by adapting it to Users’ needs, or to obtain Users’ IP addresses. Traffic data is never used by SCILLE in a way that identifies individuals.
